In GS Koprzywnica stores one can by rarities sach as: “koprzywnickiblended bread baked according to native recipes with natural sourdough has a taste of traditional Polish countryside bread, podpłomyk koprzywnicki- small cake sprinkled with sugar, delicious when hot and a bread- roll with fruits.

Kugiel mieszczański- this dish was already know when Koprzywnica was populated by Jews. Kugiel is served in many agrotourism farms.

“Łoniowiak” carp, roast goose with apples and dried fruits, regional duck with apples, kociołek łoniowski are dishes which made Gmina Łoniów famous when it participated in Regional Cuisine competition.

Main regional products of Gmina Obrazów are top quality fruits and vegetables of almost every variety as well as homemade fruit and vegetable preserves.

Cultural and cooking traditions are maintained by the group “Wilczanie” and by farmers “wives” association operating at the Gmina Public Library in Wilczyce. Ladies won the 1st prize and obtained the “Silver ladle” in the competition “Our regional Sandomierz cuisine” for “Bidula” and “countryside roulade” and 1st prize in “Easter Arts” for the “the Chicken”.

Voivodeship tomato festival takes place every year on the first Sunday of July. It is the fair of agricultural products and machines and performances.

Voivodeship apple picking festival in Obrazów it is the most important harvest festival in the region and at the same time the only such festival in Poland.

Festival of the blossoming apple tree in Samborzec- voivodeship event, organized every year in the first decade of May.

Easter fire- this custom consists in blowing at the fire by local fire- fighters. This resurrection show takes place on Holy Saturday at the Church of the Holy Mother of the Rosary in Koprzywnica.

Cistercian picnic in Koprzywnica – takes place every year in July and is preceded by a weeklong painting open air with the participation of painters from all over Poland.

Celebrations of the anniversary of the battle in Konary – are patriotic and religious celebrations commemorating one of the greatest battles which were fought between 16 and 22 May 1915 by soldiers of Józef Piłsudski legion against Russian forces.

Brunonalia in Klimontów is a futuristic artistic festival of nationwide range. Event reminds that Bruno Jasieński- creator of Polish Futurism- was born in Klimontów, name of the event originates from his name.

St. Hyacinth fair in Klimontów- takes place between 15 and 17 August.

Pepper Hills – the oldest rock mass in Poland made of middle- Cambrian slates. Their age is estimated to be around 500 milion years.

Tower in Nowe Kichary – 17th century St. Roch and St Hyacinth’s chapel which originally was probably a defensive tower in currently nonexistent manor of Benedictine Sisters in Sandomierz.

Church of st. Vitus and Our Lady of Sorrow in Gory Wysokie – is an oriented church, built on the plan of a cross, finished with a semicircular apse on the east side, and prominent square towers on the west.  Baroque characteristics can be found in its silhouette as well as in individual elements of the elevation and the interior. In the eastern part of the church cemetery there is an underground chapel from the end of the 18th century. Also an old presbytery from around 1860 is part of the complex.

Baroque collegiate church of St. Joseph in Klimontów – founded by the chancellor Jerzy Ossoliński, built on the plan of ellipse according to the project of Italian architect Wawrzyniec Senes. It is surrounded by a rectangular cemetery with two gates: smaller on the south, bigger- main- on the west. At south-west end of the cemetery there is a mitred prelate’s manor from the 18th century.

Dominican’s monastic complex in Klimontów – composed of St. Hyacinth Church built in 1617-1620 in gothic style and a monastery built in 1620-1623.

Synagogue with remnants of a Jewish cemetery from 1815- is located in the eastern part of Klimontów which is a Jewish district. Interior of the temple is decorated with polychrome.

Remnants of Ossoliński castle in Ossolin from 1633-1635 and an impressive arcade of the bridge which used to connect the palace with the opposite hill and an underground chapel known  as the Bethlehem chapel from 1640 covered by a mound of soil brought from Bethlehem – Christ’s place of birth.

In Góry Pęchowskie a legionnaires’ cemetery was preserved with a monument unveiled on 8 September 1929 by president Ignacy Mościcki, and in Pęchów- a manor made of stone from 19th century.

Church from 13th century in Goźlice built during the reign of Bolesław Krzywousty.

Former Cistercian monastery in Koprzywnica built in 1207-1240; only east wing of the monastery survived to this day. There is a beautiful chapter- house. Building is part of the European Cistercian Trail.

Church of the Holy Mother of the Rosary in Koprzywnica from 1470 expanded in baroque style at the end of 17th century.

Remnants of the castle in Międzygórze built in 16th century on a plateau with steep slopes cutting into Opatówka valley.

Palace complex in Włostów of Karski family from 19th century. Distinguished builders were hired for building it. Interiors were work of Italian masters. Stefan Żeromski  wrote part of his “Ashes” here.  In September 1919 Michał Karski was visited by the inspector of the Holy See, monsignore Ratti, the later pope Pius XI.

Gothic Church of St. John the Baptist in Włostów – there is a sundial from 18th century on its southern wall. In the interior there are remarkable portals from the 14th century and remnants of late roman polychromies.

Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary in Sulisławice is composed of  two churches were the work of art from the 15th century “Misericordia Domini” is located- miraculous painting of Our Lady of Sorrow, called Our Lady of Sulisławice by locals. In the neighborhood  there is a church from the 13th century with a roman portal, expanded around 1600. In its former vestry there is a Memorial Hall for the partisan detachment “Jędrusie”.

St. Nicholas parish church in Łoniów – built in 1440. Church has one nave and shape of a cross.

Palace of counts Moszyński from 1885 built in form of neo- renaissance villa with turrets and terraces. It is surrounded by a small park with historic stand of trees, established in 1912.

Wooden Church of St. Catherine and St. Stanislaus in Kleczanów built at the end of 17th century with baroque furnishings. There is a cemetery with historic gravestones made probably in the second half of the previous century.

Three stone figures creating an extraordinary complex of sculptures which are situated in malice on a small traffic island at the crossroads of roads leading to Obrazów, Łojowice, Dębiany, Wielogóra and Złota. They create a composition uniform in style known from Christian iconography as the Transfiguration of Jesus - Jesus Christ in the middle and St. Peter and St. Paul at his sides. The sculpture is from 1801. Next to it there as a significantly small wooden shrine, pillar type and of folk origin, with the sculpture of the Pensive Christ.

Archaeological sites near Samborzec are one of the most interesting archaeological regions of Poland from over 4-7 thousand years ago. During excavations traces of Neolithic settlements of several  cultures were found as well as hundreds of objects from early bronze age and later ages.

Gothic church in Skotniki from 14th century a historic manor of Bogoria- Skotniccy family with interesting Old Polish architecture.

Parish church in Samborzec – according to Jan Długosz, construction of the stone church in the 13th century was a private foundation of Paul of Samborzec. Stefan Żeromski admired the view from the church hill noting in his “Journal” on 21 July 1888 “On Sunday morning three of us ( Teofil, Joseph and me) went to the church in Samborzec. The church is located on the last elevation forming a titanic terrace – from Opatów to Vistula. One can see from the church hill, Sandomierz, Sulisławice, great part of Galicia and Dzików, Tarnobrzeg, vast wings of woods, more closely, Vistula meadows covered with willows among which a white river sparkles in the everlasting sun”.

Church of Blessed Virgin Mary in Zawichost – baroque, stone, built in 1738-40, threads of roman building which stood here already in 11th century are preserved in the foundation.

Church and former Franciscan monastery in Zawichost from middle 13th century, founded by Bolesław the Chaste, his sister Salomea and mother Grzymisława as a convent for Poor Clare Sisters.

Holy Trinity Churchin Zawichost from the 12th century, rebuilt in 15th and in 18th century. It has a rococo interior, richly ornamented. There are paintings made by F. Smuglewicz and M. Stachowicz as well as sculptures made by M. Polejowski.

Stone obelisk in Zawichost serving a purpose of measuring water level in Vistula, at ul. Plażowa, from 1924.

Roadside shrine at ul. 11 Listopada in Zawichost, built during the reign of Jagiellon dynasty (15th century) for marking a travelling road from Cracow to Lithuania.

Palace and park complex in Czyżów Szlachecki, built in 1740-1751 by Aleksander Czyżewski.

Archaeological discoveries in Wilczyce made in 1994. Site is attributed to Magdalenian culture from 15 000 – 16 000 years ago. Numerous stone and bone tools, bone settings, decorations were found here among other things. Especially worth mentioning are symbolic figures of women made of flint stone or bones. Site in Wilczyce is one of the richest sites of Magdalenian culture in Poland.

Zawisza the Black of Garbów of Sulima coat of arms (c. 1380 – 1428), famous Polish knight, underfeated in many tournaments and an example of knightly virtues.

Wiesław Myśliwski was born in Dwikozy on 15 March 1932, he is a Polish writer, two- time winner of the Nike Award in literature.

Bruno Jasieński born in Klimontów – creator of Polish futurism.

Stefan Żeromski apparently  wrote “Ashes” in Samborzec surroundings. Opatówka valley is also called writer’s valley, the following came from here: a chronicler Wincenty Kadłubek, Stanisław Młodożeniec, Wincenty Burek, Wiesław Myśliwski. A painter and a poet Wanda Schinzlowa was connected with Wilczyce asa well as a painter, a writer and a priest Jerzy Wolf.

Sandomierskie Stowarzyszenie Rozwoju Regionalnego- Local Action Group  locate within nine communies. Eight of then cover district Sandomierz, ninth located within Opatów district. Dwikozy, Klimontów, Koprzywnica, Lipnik, Łoniów, Obrazów, Samborzec, Wilczyce and Zawichost are communies where staying is an unforgettable experience. The area lies on the boarder of Małopolska Upland and Sandomierz Basin. It is an extension of Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The area is leaning towards Vistula valley, sometimes in form of distinct structural edges e.g. Pepper Hills. Southwest part of the area is covered with loess and deep ravines. On our land there is a part of Vistula river with gorges, vast meadows, riverside willows, flood meadows, oxbow lakes, sandbanks and steep valley slopes.  These places are rich with various flora and fauna. Vistula tributaries- Koprzywianka and Opatówka also flow across this area. Sandomierz Land is covered with numerous orchards and gardens which enchant with their colours during blossoming and fructification. All these attractions can be “tasted” by going down the Apple’s Route.
